Polycarbonate walls

Polycarbonate walls

Clerestory windows are important for optimisation of working conditions inside buildings and offer important savings on lighting and heating energy. Until recently, reinforced glass or other systems were used for clerestory windows; these materials were long ago superseded by polycarbonate panels, which is more suitable from the point of view of thermal insulation. Furthermore, various colours of polycarbonate or even opaque polycarbonate can be used. This makes it possible to protect workers from being blinded by the sun and restricts the possibility of a greenhouse effect in the building.

One of the advantages of fitting vertical walls with cellular polycarbonate is its elasticity. It does not crack as a result of building movement, which is often the case with the above-mentioned materials, accompanied by heat loss from the building. An equally important advantage of this material lies in elimination of injuries at work, which might be caused by heavy falling materials.
